What can Going Local and Going Local Online do for your business? It is more a case of what can't it do. With over 17,000 books printed over the course of two months of which over 16,000 are delivered door to door, not just to selected homes but to whole areas Going Local prides itself on having a readership of over 25,000. As one of the first free community directories in the area we have in excess of 100 regular advertisers and over 25 seasonal advertisers. With highly competitive prices which include free design, artwork and now basic listing in the web directory there is no better cost effective way of marketing your business.
Currently Going Local is printed as two individual magazines covering two specific areas, East Ardsley/Tingley and Wrenthorpe/Outwood and Stanley. Each area receives the magazine bi-monthly. Each advertiser and community is unique. we could make it a lot easier for ourselves and print Going Local as one individual book and distribute to both the areas we cover but we don't - why not? We realise that certain advertisers want to keep their business within their local area, we also realise that residents want to know what is happening in their particular community, that is why each issue of Going Local is individual to the area it is distributed in. Local businesses, local stories, local news.
Here is the full background to Going Local, just see how it has grown over the last three years.
Going Local was first launched in April 2007, it was a small 16 page book delivered into Wenthorpe one month and East Ardsley the following month. I have to confess when I look at the first issue it certainly was not of the quality we produce today, but the people of Ardsley and Wrenthorpe liked and supported the magazine and here we are nearly three years later, a far more professional booklet and certainly a lot thicker than we first started. Distribution started at 3,500 per area, this has now doubled in the East Ardsley/Tingley area to 7,000 and nearly trebled in the Wrenthorpe/Outwood area as we have no incorporated Stanley into this booklet and deliver 10,000. In November 2008 we launched our website, www.goinglocalonline.co.uk The site has proved a great success both with advertisers and readers of the book. With it's own dedicated business directory full of local businesses in the area you don't have to go far to find a local reliable company for all your household needs. In August of 2009 we extended even further by moving to premises in Outwood, 581a Leeds Road. We have a dedicated office in the building for the magazine where staff are always happy to help any potential advertiser with their marketing requirements. At the same time it became apparent that there was a demand in the area for a stationers and greeting card supplier, so we met that demand and moved into retailing by opening a shop at the front of the building. The shop specialises in competitively priced greeting cards for all occasions, pens, pencils, stationery, party products, helium balloons, novelties and gifts. We currently have a vast range of cards on sale well below high street prices and with more stock arriving weekly it might be worth your while to pay us a visit. As if that wasn't enough this also led us into the printing market, small businesses have a need for business cards, letterhead and flyers but don't want to have to pay a fortune for a small quantity. We meet all demands for printing whether it be 50 or 10,000business cards, 100 or 10,000 flyers usually within a couple of days of the order being approved and at very competitive prices. We also specialise in printing personalised party or special occasion invitations and personalised greeting cards. The final string to our bow, came in mid August when we purchased a further well established magazine covering the Morley area known as The Morley Knowledge. The Morley Knowledge has kept its own identity but been brought into line with the other Going Local booklets in terms of distribution and has its own dedicated website www.themorleyknowledge.co.uk. I am sure you will agree that Going Local now has many strings to its bow. So if you are a local business looking to carry out some cost effective advertising or have specific printing or marketing requirements please don't hesitate to give us a call on 01924 820747 or 07875 227095 or email enquiries@goinglocalonline.co.uk
We offer a dedicated service to all our advertisers, below are some of our customer testimonials, see what Going Local has done for their business, there is no reason why it cannot do the same for yours.
Going Local approached me about 2 and a half years ago to advertise my Dog Grooming service. I was already advertising with another local magazine but thought I would give Going Local a try as it was distributed in different areas. I have since been a regular advertiser with the magazine and my business at Bright Eyes Dog Grooming has increased substantially. I find the advertising rates very competitive and will keep using Going Local to advertise my business.
I know that advertising with Going Local works for other businesses as I have used advertisers from the magazine personally on a number of occasions. I would recommend giving Going Local a try and see what it can do to increase business for you.

Going Local approached us over two years ago when it first started as a local business and community magazine, since then both our businesses have had a constant stream of local work. Going Local offers competitive rates, friendly service and a 110% level of commitment, it also played a major part in helping us start The Full Monty.
We would like to wish Karen good luck on her new addition to Going Local. Thanks for everything.
Rob, Paul and Graham
I was contacted by Karen when she was first starting Going Local as she had seen one of my business cards advertising my mobile hairdressing business. I had never previously advertised but due to the fact that I had just relocated to the area I needed to build a new client base and felt that as prices were very competitive it was worth giving it a try. My business has never looked back and I would not have thought it was possible, I have obtained so many new clients that I am now having to stop advertising because I am becoming too busy. Karens level of support and service especially for a new business starting out is second to none, I would recommend to anyone to give Going Local a try.

I have advertised with Going Local in the Wrenthorpe edition since it first started, I was already quite well know in the East Ardsley area and found it was great that I could advertise in one selective area as and when I needed to. Two years on my business has grown substantially, Going Local has been fantastic for my business, because of the type of work I do a lot of my clients are elderly and they always say how useful they find the book. I couldn't have wished for a better cost effective marketing tool to help my business grow.

I have advertised in the Going Local magazine for over two years now and have always been given a professional service.
